After Prom is an event organized by parents and community members. There have been years we did not have one, but for the last two years we have. We have been looking for volunteers for a few weeks now. It takes a strong core group to organize and several more to chaperone. At this point, we have two volunteers. Prom is about 10 weeks away and time to start organize an after prom is quickly closing. It requires fundraising, seeking donations, organizing activities, food and chaperones. This is a last call to see if anyone is interested. Please contact Mrs. Shumaker if interested.

The GHS Varsity Ball scheduled for tomorrow will still be occurring. Reminder that the dance is $5 for admission. Dance starts at 7 pm and goes until 10 pm.

UPDATED SCHOOL CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT: Tomorrow, Friday, Feb 16th, 2024 will now be a County Wide School Closure Day. Students and Staff will not report. Students are not required to complete any instruction or assignments. Taylor County Schools will not be utilizing a NTI Day as previously announced. This change is due to guidelines set forth by the WV Department of Education.

Hello Bearcat Families,
As you know, we have our first NTID day tomorrow. For GHS students, your subjects for tomorrow's assignments are math, social studies, fine arts and related arts. You downloaded your assignments to your iPad last fall. Your teachers will be available from 10 to 3 tomorrow if you need assistance. Have a good evening and stay well!

Friday, February 16, 2024 will be Non-Traditional Instruction Day for all Taylor County Schools as a result of result of unforeseen staff shortages throughout the school district. This is NTI Day #1 for students. Students will learn from home and staff will be available for support from 10:00am-3:00pm.
