Honoring the Life & Legacy of Misty Watkins 💚

In honor of Misty’s life and her passion for education, her family and friends have established the Misty Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will support a GHS senior who hopes to follow a path similar to Misty’s by pursuing a degree in Education and becoming a teacher.

Ms. Watkins was also well known throughout GHS for her Senior Memory Book which was a project that encouraged students to reflect on their lives, their experiences, the people who shaped them, and the stories that made them who they are.

She truly believed that every student’s story mattered.

So, in a way that we know Misty would have appreciated, we are now turning the pages toward her. We invite former students, colleagues, friends, family, and members of our community to share a memory, a story, a lesson, a laugh, a moment, or simply the way Ms. Watkins impacted your life. These submissions will be compiled and gifted on behalf of GHS Staff to her family. She spent years asking her students to tell their stories and reminding them that their lives mattered.

Due to a HVAC Issue, Grafton High School will dismiss at 11:30am, August 31, 2026. GHS students will be dismissed using standard transportation procedures. Only Grafton High School bus schedules will operate on an adjusted early dismissal timeline. All other Taylor County students will operate at their normal dismissal times. After-school activities may continue as scheduled unless otherwise notified.
