As we head into the holiday weekend, we have an Active Alumni Summer Shoutout to share! 😎☀️ Justin Gainer, GHS Class of 2024, is a rising junior at Marshall University. As a Freshman at MU, Justin received the prestigious Outstanding Freshman Chemist Award. Last summer, he took the class, completed the clinical hours, and passed the exams to earn certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). When he is home, he volunteers at UHC in the infusion center. This summer, Justin is completing two study abroad opportunities - one studying Spanish at Universidad Madrid, the other studying Literature at Oxford University. Congrats to Chase Maier! Chase ran at Wittenberg University for AAU regional Track & Field this weekend. Chase finished second in his age group with a time of 4:19 in the 1500m. His time earned him a spot at the AAU Junior Olympics in Iowa.

Shout out to Mr. Zukowski! Last week he participated in the "Teaching the Declaration of Independence" workshop at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. There were approximately 50 educators from throughout the United States. The workshop was led by three teacher-facilitators and lectures from four professors. Teachers participated in simulations such as the Second Continental Congress and the Committee of Five. Thank you to Mr. Zukowski for his summer professional development to continue to deliver the best opportunities and content for his students. Mr. Zukowski teaches senior-level Civics and AP US Government and Politics. #summerPD #APGov
