GHS is collecting change/monetary donations during 8th period from Monday, March 28th until Thursday, April 7th to help purchase dinner items for families in need to celebrate Easter. Please bring donations next week to help support this cause. The 8th period with the most money at the conclusion of the donating event will win a pizza party on April 8th.

Shoutout to Mr. Wilson, Carrie Ellen Richards, and Devin Weaver for constructing this carriage in the Welding shop for our 2022 Prom. Thank you to Hunter Swisher for helping paint the carriage as well. We are so lucky to have so many talented students and teachers at GHS and cannot wait to see this at the Prom!

Autumn Ware was elected by her classmates (fellow “employees”) as Riverside Designs March 2022 Employee of the Month.
Autumn will graduate as a Triple Completer in 2023 completing in Information Management this year, 2022, and two additional concentrations her senior year, Coding, App, and Game Design and Management and Administrative Support.
Autumn has obtained certifications in Visual Design using Adobe Photoshop CC2018 and Graphic Design & Illustration using Adobe Illustrator 2021. Through the Business Computer Applications course, Autumn certified in Microsoft Word, Word Expert, and Excel. Autumn’s December 2021 Excel score qualified her among the top-scoring candidates in West Virginia to advance to the 2022 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship to be held in Dallas, Texas in June.
Autumn is a member of the GHS National Technical Honor Society. Her interests beyond the classroom include dance. She has danced for 13 years and currently studies tap with Studio C in Grafton.

GHS students entered posters into the WV Council of Teachers of Mathematics (WVCTM) poster contest. The winning poster will be next year’s logo and theme. For the second conference in a row, a GHS student won the contest. Congratulations to Hannah Beasley.
In addition, Chloe Saltis and Carrington Mayle were both in the top 6 high school posters.

Mr. Uhl's carpentry students designed and built a rabbit hutch. It was commissioned by a member of the Taylor County Community.
Students in Ms. Hunt's Algebra 2 classed discovered pi on Pi Day. A big shout out to Mr. Uhl and his classes for making circles for the activity.
Students in Ms. Hunt's Precalculus classes recently completed a Trigonometry Story problem project using Storyboard That.

Seniors: The following local scholarship application deadlines are quickly approaching GHS Local Scholarship, GFWC Scholarship, Hometown Hero Scholarship, Class of 1968 Scholarship and a brand NEW scholarship as of this year- $2,500 to a senior planning to attend a 4 year college/university called the Lemon Spino Scholarship. Applications have been sent via Livegrades and Teams. Hard copies are available in the counseling office as well.
Many of these are specific to Grafton High School, so please take advantage of these opportunities!

If you are a 10th or 11th grader interested in Aviation Maintenance at Pierpont, we will be taking a trip on March 29th from 8:30 until 12:00. This would be a school excused absence and is only open to the first 20 students interested in taking this program who return the attached form on Livegrades/Teams. These forms are also available in the counseling office. Dual Enrollment allows students to earn college credits at the Aviation Maintenance program, hands on learning, while also coming half a day at GHS to take their core courses. For Juniors interested, we will be scheduling for classes that day if you would like to do so.
