Sending out this appreciation post to our head custodian Mr. Zach Pinnell and the TCS maintenance department. Mr. Pinnell has went every day this week to keep sidewalks open and monitor the building for heat or other issues. The maintenance department has plowed parking lots.

As you know, tomorrow is our first NTID day for the year.
For Thursday, January 9, 2025, students are to work on the assignments they downloaded to their iPad from Math, social studies, fine arts, PE and health.
Students will have two school days after returning from the NTID to submit work.
Assignments should take about an hour per subject assigned today.
Teachers are available by email, phone or Teams today for student questions from 10 am to 3 pm.

Tomorrow, Thursday, January 9th, 2025, will be a Non-Traditional Instruction Day for all Taylor County Schools. This is NTI Day #1 for students. Students will learn from home and staff will be available for support from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Attention GHS National Honor Society applicants- the application due date is extended. New due date will be determined when we return to school.

Happy snow day! I hope you are all well and enjoying the extended break. The UTC visit for freshmen is cancelled for this week. We will reschedule at a later date.
As the end of semester is approaching, we will adjust the exam schedule and semester end date after we return from this snow storm. Exam exemption forms will be distributed the first day we return.

The WV Dept. of Education is reporting continued issues with their program Livegrades. They are working on getting it operational as soon as possible. TCS will send updates as we get them. Thank you for your patience while we work through the issues.
New Members of National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) are reminded to check their emails (k12 or personal) to finalize their new member accounts. Please also check NTHS Teams for information and announcements. New Member one-time dues are $30 and can be paid by check, cash, or School Cash Online (scan the QR code). The brief online application and dues are to be paid and finalized by January 8. Please see Mrs. Ward in TC8 with any questions. You may also send an email to stward@k12.wv.us.
Save the Date, Friday afternoon, January 31, for the Induction Ceremony. Our NTHS Seniors will also be receiving their purple and white graduation cords. Parents will be invited to attend.

Our GHS Communities in Schools Coordinator, Jennifer Eskridge, organized the Polar Express Toy Drive. Students donated approximately 200 toys that will be donated to True Vine Ministries. Thank you to everyone that donated.
