Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, will be a Non-Traditional Instruction Day for all Taylor County Schools. This is NTI Day #1 for students. Students will learn from home and staff are to be available for support, from their assigned work site, from 10am-3pm. Parents and Guardians are asked to review our NTID Family Plan video for more information on student expectations, available teacher supports, and meal availability for students. This video can be viewed on our Taylor County Schools website, YouTube channel, and social media page.

GHS National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) will be sponsoring a SHOE DRIVE starting in mid-January!

As you try on last year's snow boots and they are too small, please keep GHS NTHS in mind for your donations. Our goal is to collect 2,500 pair of shoes!

We can accept all gently worn, used and new shoes, sneakers, and even cleats. However, certain types of footwear aren’t accepted, including single shoes or mismatched pairs of shoes, ice skates, rollerblades/roller skates, wet/moldy shoes, and shoes with holes or tears.

Congratulations to our Bearcat Esports Seige Team for making the WVSEL Fall Finals!

The team has played weekly on Wednesdays during the fall season. The team, supervised by Coach Norris, was scheduled to travel to WVU today. Due to weather, the Finals will be rescheduled to a later date either in person or remotely.

🌟 GHS Spanish Department Showcase 2025 🌟 What an unforgettable night! 🎭💃🎶 Our Cultural Showcase was a beautiful celebration of Hispanic culture and community, filled with singing, dancing, acting, and so much student talent. Our students shined on stage and made us incredibly proud. ✨ And of course… we cannot forget the delicious tacos, fresh arepas, warm quesadillas, and our unique desserts that everyone enjoyed! 🌮🫓🧁 These flavors truly brought our community together. A huge gracias to all the parents and families who came out to support our performers. Your presence made the night even more special. ❤️ We would also like to thank: ⭐ Superintendent Stallings for joining us and supporting our language program ⭐ Mrs. Shumaker for her constant encouragement ⭐ Mrs. Duretha Mayle, whose help with sound and equipment was essential ⭐ Allison Horne for capturing beautiful photos throughout the night ⭐ Viktoria Pérez, who helped choreograph our beautiful Flamenco performance ⭐ Hytia Nissivoccia, who guided our students with the Cumbia dance ⭐ Srta.
