Set a positive example by establishing a daily routine of reading a story with your child. Children often take cues from the adults around them, and creating this routine may encourage your child to read independently. Never stop modeling the importance of developing literacy skills!

Fun Tip Friday for Families
One way to improve your child’s literacy skills is to link what is read in the book with real life. For example, if you read a book about the park, take your child to the park and point out the slides, swing sets, etc., that were seen in the book. GHS Golf Team was recognized during Tuesday night's board meeting for their accomplishment of finishing 4th place in the West Virginia State AA Tournament. Congratulations Bearcats!
The TCMS Boys' XC Team was recognized during Tuesday's board member for receiving 1st place ranking in all 10 meets. Way to go, Knights!

Donation supporters will have an extra table sat up just for students and this will only be available at this gate.

Our first Fun Tip Friday for Families focuses on the Science of Reading research and best practices. Thursday, October 19th will now be a 2-Hour Early Release for all Taylor County School students. Staff will be attending various meetings and trainings within the schools.
GHS Sugar Rush Event.
The Falliday event will take place inside GHS. The entrance is across from the GHS student parking lot on Sam Boord Drive. We are excited to see many Taylor County children ages 4 and under!
Reminder: Friday, October 6th is a Professional Learning Day for all TCS Staff. No school for students.
Just a reminder about the Falliday event this Friday, October 6th from 4:00-6:00 PM at the GHS student parking lot. All Taylor County children under 4 yrs. old are invited. Food trucks are listed on the flyer.
