During a recent Special Board meeting of the Taylor County Board of Education on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, now previous Board President, Mr. Clark Sinclair, revealed his intention to discontinue his membership on the Board as a result of his interest in pursuing other opportunities that would not be compatible with Board membership.
As a result of Mr. Sinclair’s departure from the Taylor County Board of Education, a fifth member of the Board is now needed to compete the required number of members.
A search for that fifth member of the Taylor County Board of Education is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 15, 2024, with in-person interviews being conducted during the week of January 29th through February 2nd, 2024, depending on the number of qualified applicants.
Applications for consideration of the appropriate replacement’s identification and appointment are available online via the Taylor County Board of Education website, https://www.taylorcountyboe.net/page/fifth-board-member-vacant-information , as well as at the Taylor County Board of Education Central Office located at 71 Utt Drive, Grafton, WV, 26354.
Eligibility requirements include:
- A citizen and legal resident of either the Western or Tygart Districts** of Taylor County, West Virginia.
- Possess at least a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED/TASC) Diploma.
- May not be an employee of the Taylor County Board of Education.
Subsequent to Appointment Requirements include:
- If selected and appointed to fill the vacant position must attend and complete the next orientation course related to Boardmanship and Governance Effectiveness offered following his or her appointment.
