Title I

The Title I program provides financial assistance through state educational agencies (SEAs) to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high numbers or percentages of children living in poverty to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic achievement standards.

  • Anna Jarvis Elementary School

  • Flemington Elementary School

  • Taylor County Middle School

All Title I Schools in Taylor County follow the school-wide model.

School-Wide Requirements

  • Comprehensive Needs Assessment

    • Schools must annually identify the greatest areas of need.

  • The School-Wide Plan must include

    • Opportunities for all students.

    • Strengthen the academic program in the school.

    • Increase the amount and quality of learning time.

    • Help provide an enriched and accelerated curriculum.

    • Address the needs of all students, particularly those most at risk.

    • Include a description of how the funds will be used to support the initiatives that have been developed based on the results of the Comprehensive Needs Assessment.

    • Remain in effect for the duration of the school’s participation with regular monitoring and revisions as necessary based on student needs to ensure that all students are provided opportunities to meet the challenging state academic standards.

Title II

The purpose of Title II is to increase the academic achievement of students by helping districts improved teacher and principal effectiveness and increase the number of highly qualified teachers.

Title III

Title III provides additional support to English language learns.

Title IV

Title IV funding provides students with access to a well-rounded education, improves the safe and supportive learning environment, and enhances the use of technology to maximize student achievement.

Family Engagement Policy

Taylor County Schools is committed to providing opportunities and encouraging families to be involved. The Family Engagement Policy outlines ways the district promotes positive communication, fosters student achievement and success, disseminates information and resources, and provides training and activities to connect students, parents, communities, and schools. Complaint Procedure: As part of its Assurances within Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) program grant applications and pursuant to Section 9306 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), an LEA accepting federal funds also agrees to adopt local written procedures for the receipt and resolution of complaints alleging violations of law in the administration of covered programs.

Parents Right to Know explains parents right to know:

  • the professional qualifications of their child's teacher(s) including the degrees and certifications held.

  • whether the

    teacher is certified in his/her respective area of instruction.

  • the school improvement status of the school.

  • the level of achievement of their child in each area of the state assessment.

  • if their child has been assigned, or has been taught for at least four consecutive weeks, by a teacher who does not meet

    the highly qualified definition.

  • ways to be involved in the planning and implementation of the parent involvement program in their school.

McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act is intended to ensure that homelessness does not cause children to be left behind in school. Contact the district's Homeless Liaison, Jenny McCarthy, with questions.

Informational Family Packet for the 2024-2025 School Year contains annual notification of rights under Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).
